In the music, there was more variety than ever, and people were listening: Funk, Soul, R&B, Pop, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, and Disco. In the late 70s was born another music style: hip-hop. Some of the best rock n roll of all time was recorded in the 70s: David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Jackson Five, Diana Ross, Johnny Cash are only the loudest examples. The 70s were a golden era for vinyl records: everyone had a record player. 1970 also marked the end of a period: The Beatles dissolved.

This lifestyle had a direct impact on the interior design of that period, which was divided between two distinctive styles: the Boho revolved towards natural, earthy, and easygoing look, and the Glam with glitzy disco feels. The first one had incorporated macramé details, shag rugs, and rattan furnishings. While the second style went for black and gray marble, walnut wood and sparkle finishings.

If I would like to go for a Seventies interior design look today, I would choose to mix the modern minimalistic style with a boho or disco pieces. Whatever version is close to your heart, you'll be able to create an eclectic mood that would look up to date but will the same time, have a recall to that era.
